To build on Midwest Energy’s conservation efforts, a new rate structure will help residential and small commercial customers save money for using less electricity this summer. Spokesman Bob Helm says along with lowering bills, conservation helps the cooperative’s efforts to meet the demand for electricity.
Under the summer rate structure, usage below 500 kilowatts is billed at the lowest rate, 501 to 1,100 is the medium rate and anything over 1,100 is the highest rate.
Conservation tips are available on the Midwest Energy website and through the How$mart program.
