An air conditioning malfunction at the Hays Blood Donor Center has forced blood collections to move to the Hadley Center Tuesday. Normal operations are expected to resume at the Blood Center Wednesday.

The American Red Cross has issued an emergency call for blood and platelet donors of all types. The Red Cross has half the inventory it did this time last year and has had 50,000 fewer donations than expected in June.

People eligible to donate are encouraged to call 1-800-RED-CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org to make an appointment.
