A public hearing regarding a conditional-use permit for two wind turbine generators to benefit Fort Hays State University will be conducted at 7:15p.m. Wednesday by the Ellis County Joint Planning Commission, 601 Main Street.
The turbines are 77.5 meters tall (254.2 feet) and would be located at the southeast corner of Victoria Road and 200th Avenue on property owned by Brian J. Staab and leased to FHSU.
The application states the two wind turbines will provide electrical energy to FHSU, about 97 percent of the current energy on-campus consumption.
The wind energy would offset commercially provided energy.
