Ryan Busboom hit a first inning grand slam and Blake Johnston pitched seven strong innings helping the Hays Larks to a 10-3 win over Liberal and a sweep of the two-game series at Larks Park. The victory is the Larks fifth straight and moves them into first-place by a half-game in the Jayhawk League.

Busboom’s grand slam highlighted the Larks five-run first inning. He added an RBI double in the fifth and finished with five RBIs. MacKenzie Handel and Elvin Rodriguez both had three of the Larks 14 hits.

Blake Johnston, making his first start since June 3rd, allowed three runs on five hits over seven innings to move to 3-0 on the season.
