To ensure that Ellis County has money for road and bridge improvement projects the commission is considering adding a mill and a half to the county budget.

Commissioner Dean Haselhorst says the money would be a dedicated funding source so that those projects aren’t competing with budget requests for equipment or personnel. The amount would be $600,000.

The county held a special budget meeting Monday afternoon and continued the discussion during Monday night’s meeting as they try to build the 2013 budget.
