A lee side trough of low pressure will strengthen across extreme eastern Colorado today.
As a result, southerly winds of 10 to 15 mph this morning will increase up to 20 to 30 mph through early this afternoon. The dry conditions and low relative humidity levels by this afternoon will lead to near critical fire weather conditions across much of western Kansas. Therefore, outdoor burning is discouraged. Expect highs up around 100 to 108 this afternoon with lows tonight falling back into the 70s for the most part.
Rain chances actually return to central and portions of western Kansas Wednesday along with the arrival of a weak cold front by early to mid afternoon.
