The first update since 1994 of the city of Hays Comprehensive Plan is in its final draft.  City Commissioners will review it during their Thursday night work session.

Consultants RDg Planning and Design were hired in May 2011 to facilitate the project along with a 12-member volunteer steering committee.  More than 30 public meetings have been held for input from various community groups.

Assistant Hays City Manager Paul Briseno says the comprehensive plan will be used by the City and Hays Area Planning Commissions as a guide for future land use, housing, infrastructure and transportation in an integrated development concept.
