Some Storms Possible Today, Warmer Towards Weekend

Scattered showers across south central Kansas will slowly diminish across south central Kansas this morning.

Thunderstorms may develop this afternoon as the atmosphere destabilizes, and produce small hail and gusty 50 mph winds. The remainder of the week will be mainly dry with a warming trend. There is a low possibility for isolated showers or thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening generally anywhere across the area, and again this weekend across west central Kansas. However the chances are very low.

A large upper ridge building eastward from the western states will influence the temperatures in a warming trend. Highs by Friday and Saturday should reach the upper 90s. Overnight lows will rise through the 60’s this week and into the low 70’s by the weekend.
