The Hays Police Department conducted 21 traffic stops and received four animal calls over the weekend, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.
Disturbance: The Hays Police Department investigated four disturbance cases on Saturday. The first two occurred in the early morning hours Saturday. Officers investigated the first as an alleged case of domestic disturbance and battery in the 100 block of West 7th Street. The second was in the 200 block of West 7th for a case of fighting and disorderly conduct. The other two battery cases were in the 1500 block of Highway 40 bypass. One was a domestic battery and the other was a report of general battery.
Damage to Property: Officers investigated two reports of damage to property on Saturday. The first alleged incident occurred in the 700 block of East 7th Street between Friday evening and Saturday morning. The other occurred in the 500 block of East 18th Street in the early morning hours Saturday. Both of the alleged incidents were investigated as criminal damage to property.
Theft/Burglary: The Hays Police Department received two burglary reports Saturday. Officers began an investigation into a report of a burglary of a residence in the 2800 block of Grant Avenue. The alleged burglary happened between Thursday, August 8th and Saturday, August 11th. Officers also received a report of the burglary of a vehicle in the 1700 block ofDechant Road.
Vehicle Accidents: The Hays PD received a report of a hit and run accident in the 2200 block of Canterbury Drive Saturday evening just before 10:00.
Water Violation: There were two reports of water use violations on Saturday afternoon. The first was in the 2600 block of Augusta Laneand the second was in the 400 block of West 21st Street. Both of the alleged incidents occurred in the afternoon Saturday.
