Hays Police To Increase DUI Enforcement Over The Next Few Weeks

The Hays Police Department is increasing efforts to deter drunk driving in Hays.

Officers of the Hays Police Department will increase DUI enforcement efforts from August 17th to September 3rd. The officers will be conducting a saturation patrol Friday, August 17th in an effort to deter and decrease the number of impaired driver on the roadways. With help from a grant underwritten by the Kansas Department of Transportation, additional officers will be out on the streets during this time frame to aggressively enforce Kansas traffic laws.

This event is being conducted in accordance with the Kansas Department of Transportation “S.T.E.P.” – Special Traffic Enforcement Program, and “I.D.D.P.”-Impaired Driving Deterrence Program.
