A period of wet weather will affect much of southwest Kansas through the weekend as an upper level low over the desert southwest Region moves toward western Kansas.
A surface low over southeast Colorado will remain stationary as the upper low approaches over the next couple of days. Rich Gulf of Mexico moisture will persist over the region which will promote rain-efficient thunderstorms.
Several rounds of storms will produce an event-total of 1-2″ of rain by the end of the weekend…especially east of Highway 283.
