The Hays Police Department conducted 27 traffic stops and received 10 animal calls on Wednesday, according to the Police Activity Log.
Theft: The Hays Police Department investigated three reports of theft on Wednesday. Three of the alleged incidents were reports of shoplifting. The first was reported in the 4300 block of Vine Street between 2:00 and 3:00AM. The second report of shoplifting was reported just after 10:00AM in the 3300 block of Vine Street. The final report of shoplifting was reported Wednesday afternoon just after 4:00 in the 4300 block of Vine Street.
Burglary: Officers also investigated three burglary reports on Wednesday. The Hays PD received a report of a vehicle burglary in the 700 block of East 7th Street. The alleged incident took place between August 1st and August 22nd at 9:52PM. There was also a report of a burglary of a residence Wednesday morning just before 8:00 in the 2400 block of Pine Street. The final burglary report allegedly occurred in the 100 block of West 4th Street Tuesday between 12:00 and 9:30AM.
Vehicle Accidents: The Hays PD responded to three reports of motor vehicle accidents on Wednesday. The first accident happened in the 200 block of West 10th Street at 12:00AM. Another accident was reported in the 500 block of West 36th Street Wednesday. The alleged accident occurred between 8:30 Wednesday morning and 9:45 Wednesday evening. The final accident reported to the Hays PD on Wednesday was in the 1200 block of East 27th Street Wednesday afternoon at 2:55.
DUI: Officers conducted on driving under the influence stop in the early morning hours Wednesday. Hays Police officers conducted to traffic stop in the 2200 block of Vine Street just after 2:30AM.
Civil Dispute: The Hays Police Department received a report of a civil dispute in the 3700 block of Summer Lane at 9:55 Wednesday morning. Officers also investigated a report of criminal trespass with the dispute call.
Water Violation: There was one report of water use violation in the 4500 block of Hoover Drive Wednesday afternoon just after 1:30.
