The Hays High girls’ tennis team opened their season Thursday with a win at the Cimarron Round-Robin. The Indians tied Tribune with 40 points, but win the tiebreaker on winning percentage.
Freshman Brooke Forinash opened her career going 4-1 to win No. 2 singles. Her victory in the last match of the day pushed the Indians into the first place tie.
Hays had three second place finishes. Shelby Dinkel, who went 4-1 in No. 1 singles, Megan Bird and Jane Gagnon, who were 3-1 in No. 1doubles and Kelsee and Taylor DeBoer who finished 4-1 in No. 2 doubles.
