The Hays Police Department conducted 27 traffic stops and received eight animal calls on Thursday, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.

Vehicle Accidents: The Hays Police Department investigated three motor vehicle accidents on Thursday. Two of the accidents were hit and run accidents. The first happened on Wednesday between1:00 and4:00PM. The second hit and run accident was reported in the 4300 block of Vine Street Thursday afternoon at1:52. The final motor vehicle accident with private property occurred at 2500 and U183 Street Thursday evening at 9:40.

Civil Dispute: Officers responded to two reports of civil dispute Thursday. The Hays PD investigated a report of battery in connection with a civil dispute case in the 2700 block of Canal Boulevard just after4:15 Thursday. Officers also investigated a theft case in connection with a civil dispute call in the 500 block of Vine Street Thursday evening at 6:00.

Drug Offense: Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block Vine Street Thursday evening. While conducting the traffic stop officers began investigating drug related offenses.

Water Violation: There were two reports of water use violations on Thursday. The first report was in the 1700 block of Douglas Drive just after11:30 Thursday morning. The second was reported in the 2500 block of Vine Street Thursday afternoon just after 4:15.
