With increased traffic due to development along 230th Avenue north of the interstate and east along Feedlot Road, Ellis County is searching for funding mechanisms to pave those roads. County Administrator Greg Sund says they can apply for grants, but those won’t cover the total cost.
The county anticipates even greater truck traffic as the area develops, and the roads need to be widened and paved with asphalt that can handle heavy loads.
The commission agreed to have Sund and Public Works Administrator Mike Graf apply for any applicable funding.
