High temperatures will top out in the mid 90s.
A few locations could top out in the upper 90s. With a fairly dry air mass in place, relative humidity levels are expected to drop to around 10 to 15 percent in places. Gusty south winds are expected to develop again today which will exacerbate the threat for wildfires.
A cold front will drop into western Kansas on Wednesday and move south through the entire area Wednesday night. Widely scattered thunderstorms are expected along the front in the afternoon with areas of rain and thunderstorms increasing in coverage Wednesday night. This should bring beneficial rains to parts of southwest Kansas.
