Drees Leads HHS Boys XC at Own Invite. TMP’s Ruder Wins

Derek Drees finished third to lead the Hays High boys cross country team to a third-place team finish at their own invitational Thursday. Drees (17:17.80) was the only Indian to finish in the top-10. Dodge City won the 6A-5A event with 53 points. Liberal was second with 74 and Hays third with 84.

TMP-Marian’s Heather Ruder had the top girls’ time in the 1-4A division (14:29.90), winning by nearly 45 seconds. The Monarchs finished third behind Norton and Ness City. The Hays High girls finished sixth in the 6A-5A division with 156 points. Garden City wins it with 34. Haley George was the top Hays High finisher at 21st.

Ness City won the 1-4A boys division. TMP-Marian was fourth. The Eagles Dray Carson and Wyatt Beckman finish one and two while the Monarchs Andrew Hess came in 11th (18:56.00).
