A weak cold front will slide south through western Kansas this afternoon to early evening.
Behind this boundary, breezy northwest winds along with much drier air will combine to produce critical fire weather conditions over portions of north-central Kansas this afternoon. However, south of this front another dry and warm day will prevail with highs varying from the upper 80s to lower 90s across the southern half of Kansas.
The five-day outlook depicts yet another cold front moving through Kansas early on Saturday. This will bring cooler conditions this weekend along with a slight chance for light rain late Saturday night into early Sunday.
Temperatures will then rebound back above normal by early next week along with a chance for thunderstorms by Wednesday.
