The Hays Police Department conducted 34 traffic stops and received eight animal calls on Saturday and Sunday, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.
Saturday
Disturbances: Officers responded to five disturbance reports on Saturday. Two of the alleged reports were for fights. The first fight was reported in the 700 block of West 12th Street at 3:03AM and the second alleged fight was reported in the 800 block of Ash Street at 9:32PM. Officers also investigated one disorderly conduct in connection with a disturbance report in the 1000 block of East 41st Street. The final two disturbance reports were both noise related.
Driving Under the Influence: Hays PD conducted two driving under the influence stops in the early morning hours Saturday. The first driving under the influence stop was conducted in the 1000 block of East 8th Street at 1:53AM. The second alleged DUI stop was conducted in the 4000 block o f General Hays Road at 2:17AM
Vehicle Accidents: The Hays Police Department responded to two motor vehicle accidents on Saturday evening. The first accident involving private property was reported in the 2200 block of Canterbury Drive at 9:30 Saturday evening. The second accident involving personal injury occurred at 20th and Allen Street at 11:00PM.
Damage to Property: Officers investigated a pair of reports of criminal damage to property on Saturday. The first alleged incident was in the 2500 block of Vine Street Sunday afternoon between 12:30 and 1:30. The second alleged incident occurred in the 100 block of West 7th Street between 2:00 and 6:00PM.
Sunday
Battery: The Hays Police Department began investigating three reports of battery on Sunday. Two of the cases were reported as simple battery. The first was reported in the 2200 block of Canterbury Drive at 1:17AM. Another case of simple battery was reported in the 200 block of West 10th Street just after 2:00AM Sunday. The final battery report, investigated by the Hays Police Department Sunday, was an aggravated battery report in the 100 block of West 10th Street Sunday morning at 2:40.
Theft: Officers responded to a pair of theft repots in the early morning hours Sunday. Officers investigated a report of theft in the 1000 block of Elm Street. The alleged theft occurred between 2:20 and 2:49AM Sunday. Officers also investigated a theft report in the 4000 block of General Hays Road. The alleged theft occurred between12:00 and 2:42PM.
Driving Under the Influence: Hays PD conducted two driving under the influence stops on Sunday morning. The first stop was conducted in the 700 block of Elm Street at 1:48 Sunday morning. The second DUI stop was conducted in the 100 block of West 7th Street at 2:28AM.
Dangerous Animal: The Hays Police Department received three animal calls on Sunday, one of the calls was to report a dangerous animal. The alleged dangerous animal was reported in the 400 block of West 5th Street at 8:30 Sunday morning.
Vehicle Accident: Officers responded to one motor vehicle accident report on Sunday. The alleged accident occurred in the 200 block of Vine Street between 6:32 and 7:04AM Sunday.
