The Secretary of the Kansas Department for Children and Families stopped in Hays Tuesday on a three day tour of western Kansas.

Phyllis Gilmore is visiting with local staff and community partners as the department continues the transition from SRS to DCF. Gilmore says the change has allowed the agency to narrow the focus on children and families.

The tour also stopped in Phillipsburg and Colby Tuesday and will hold meetings in southwest Kansas Wednesday.
