Oktoberfest is expanding this year. The annual Hays celebration will be in both Frontier and Municipal parks. Fort Hays State University Alumni Association Executive Director Debra Prideaux says this is the 40th anniversary.

The Ellis County Historical Society has partnered with Fort Hays State and Eagle Communications to host a family-friendly celebration in Municipal Park with the traditional Oktoberfest still held across the dike in Frontier Park. The opening ceremony in Municipal Park is at 9am Friday and the Keg Tapping Ceremony will be at 11 in Frontier Park.
