The Highway Patrol responded to several accidents in the area Wednesday night.

Around 6:30, a westbound vehicle on Old Highway 40 one mile west of Castle Rock slid into the north ditch rolling onto its top. The car’s driver, 57-year-old Linda Cook from Grainfield, was taken to the Gove County Medical Center.

In Smith County, two trucks collided at a county intersection four miles north of Smith Center. Both drivers from Smith Center, 20-year-old Caleb Martin and 30-year-old Marcus Overmiller, were taken to the local hospital.

A motorcycle rider was injured when he lost control on a county road south of Kirwin in Phillips County around7:30 Wednesday night.  Harold Richie, 32, from Stockton was ejected from the bike. He was taken to the Phillipsburg Hospital.
