Fire caused substantial damage to T-Bones Sports Bar and Grill Tuesday morning.

The Hays Fire Department was called to the restaurant on General Hays Road at 8:46 am.

When the firefighters arrived they found heavy smoke and significant fire in the restaurant. Departments from Ellis Rural, Ellis and Victoria responded to assist. One firefighter was treated for a minor burn injury. There were no other injuries.

The restaurant was severely damaged and adjacent businesses also were affected by smoke and damage from firefighters accessing concealed spaces to stop the spread of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
