An two-vehicle accident two miles east of Hays Saturday morning injured an 11-year-old boy.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, at around 9:15 am Marilyn Prewo, 72, of Hays, was northbound in a 2000 Chevy pickup on Toulon Avenue when she attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Airbase Road and struck a southbound 2001 Hyundai SUV driven by Lynn Malleck, 42, of Hays.

An 11-year-old boy, Anthony Malleck, was transported to HaysMed with disabling injuries from the collision. Another passenger in the SUV, 45-year-old Thomas Malleck, was listed as having possible injuries. Lynn Malleck and Prewo were uninjured in the accident.

All were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
