FHSU Women’s Soccer Ranked in Region for First Time in Program History

The Fort Hays State women’s soccer team is ranked in the region rankings for the first time in the program’s two-year history. The rankings, which came out Tuesday rank the Tigers at No. 10 in the Central Region.

FHSU went 1-0-1 last week in soccer action. At the FHSU Soccer Stadium on Thursday, the Tigers played to a 2-2 draw with Missouri Western. The Tigers scored an impressive 3-1 win over Northwest Missouri State on Saturday for their one win on the week. FHSU is 8-5-1 on the season and 4-4-1 in the MIAA.

The Tigers are one of four MIAA teams ranked in the Central Region. Central Oklahoma leads the way at No. 3, Truman is No. 4 and Central Missouri is No. 5.

Minnesota State-Mankato and Southwestern Oklahoma State are No.1 and 2 in the Central Region with the three MIAA teams 3-5.

The Tigers return to action this weekend on Friday at Truman State in Kirksville, Mo. Start time is set for 12 p.m. On Sunday, FHSU takes on Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo. at 12 p.m.
