HaysMed did not receive the drug from the New England Compounding Center that has been connected to the fungal meningitis outbreak, but according to a news release, the hospital has stopped using other products from the NECC.
The FDA and Kansas Department of Health and Environment have recommended that medical centers follow up with patients who received any injectable product from the compounding center on or after May 21st, 2012. HaysMed is sending letters to about 150 patients.
As of now, there have been no reports of complications with the medications from NECC administered to HaysMed patients.
