The Hays Police Department conducted 14 traffic stops and received eight animal calls on Friday, according to the Police Activity Log.
Theft: The Hays Police Department investigated three theft reports on Friday. The first was reported as theft of services in the 4000 block of General Hays Road at 2:22AM. Officers investigated a theft report in the 400 block of East 11th Street. The alleged theft occurred Thursday between 3:00 and 5:00PM. The final theft report was in connection with a lost/found property report in the 3000 block of Sherman Avenue at 9:38AM.
Drug Offense: Police Officers received a report of a disturbance Friday morning in the 1000 block of Elm Street. When officers arrived they began an investigation into drug related offenses in connection with the disturbance report. The alleged incident occurred between 10:45 and 11:00AM Friday.
Civil Dispute: The Hays PD received a domestic disturbance report, in connection with a civil dispute in the 2200 block of Main Street Friday at 5:31PM.
Motor Vehicle Accident: Officers responded to two motor vehicle accidents on Friday. The first accident, involving private property, was reported in the 4300 block of Vine Street at 3:42PM. The second accident, with private property was reported in the 1300 block of Vine Street at 10:40PM.
The Hays PD conducted 54 traffic stops and received two animal calls on Saturday and Sunday they conducted seven traffic stops and received eight.
Sex Offense: The Police Department investigated a simple battery reports in connection with a report of a sex offense in the 500 block of West 7th Street Saturday morning at 1:57.
Burglary/Theft: Officers investigated one burglary report and one theft on Saturday and one theft report on Sunday as well. The burglary and criminal damage to property was report in the 1800 block of Ash Street at 9:13AM Saturday. The theft was reported in the 500 block of West 21st Street Saturday morning at 10:48. The theft Sunday was reported in the 300 block of West 6th Street. The alleged theft occurred between Sunday at 3:00 and 10:00AM.
Disturbance: The Hays PD responded to eight disturbance calls on Saturday and Sunday. Four of the disturbances were reported as fights and two were noise reports. The second noise complaint led to an investigation into drug related offenses in the 3700 block of Hall Street in the early morning hours Saturday.
Motor Vehicle Accidents: Officers investigated three motor vehicle accidents over the weekend. A hit and run accident was reported in the 300 block of West 7th Street on Saturday. The accident occurred between 12:00 and 9:08AM Saturday. The second accident, involving private property was reported in the 3000 block of Hall Street Saturday at 5:20PM. The final accident was reported in the 4100 block of Vine Street Sunday evening at 6:50.
Driving Under the Influence: The Hays PD conducted three driving under the influence stops in the early morning hours Sunday. The first DUI stop was conducted in the 1300 block of East 17th Street at 12:71AM. The second stop was conducted in the 800 block of Ash Street at 2:17AM and the final DUI stop was conducted in the 2700 block of Elm Street. Officers also investigated a false or altered ID in connection with the DUI stop.
