Weekend Police Activity Log

The Hays Police Department conducted 18 traffic stops and received 10 animal calls on Friday, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.

Theft: Officers investigated a report of theft in connection with a disturbance report in the 3600 block of Vine Street on Friday. The alleged incident occurred between 9:55 and 10:00PM.

Driving Under the Influence: The Hays PD conducted two driving under the influence stops on Friday. The first stop was conducted in the 200 block of East 8th Street at 1:44AM. The second stop was carried out in the 1000 block of Fort Street between 10:49 and 11:50 Friday evening.

Motor Vehicle Accidents: Officers responded to seven motor vehicle accidents on Friday. The first accident was reported as a hit and run accident in the 2600 block of Vine Street at 11:40 Friday morning. Officers investigated two more hit and run accidents on Friday. One accident was reported in the 3600 block of Vine Street at 5:29PM and another accident was reported in the 300 block of West 12th Street at 7:01PM. Officers also investigated one motor vehicle accident with a report of a personal injury in the 1700 block of Vine Street at 11:38PM.

On Saturday and Sunday the Hays Police Department conducted a total of 18 traffic stops and received 14 animals calls.

Drug Offenses: Officers conducted three investigations into drug offenses. The first was conducted in the 100 block of East 7th Street Friday night. On Sunday officers investigated a report of suspicious activity in the 3400 block of Vine Street and began an investigation into drug related offenses in connection with the suspicious activity report at 12:40AM. Officers also conducted a warrant service in connection with drug offenses Sunday morning at 1:02AM Sunday morning in the 1500 block of US 183 Alternate Highway.

Disturbance: The Hays Police Department received five disturbance calls on Saturday and two on Sunday. Officers investigated a case of simple battery in connection with a report of a disturbance in the 3600 block of Vine Street. The alleged incident occurred between 12:30 and 12:38 Saturday morning. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 1300 block of Vine Street at 12:54 Saturday morning. On Sunday officers investigated a fight and criminal damage to property in connection with a disturbance report in the 500 block of West 14th Street at 2:16AM. Officers also investigated a domestic disturbance reported in the 2200 block of Canterbury Drive at 12:09PM Sunday.

Burglary of a Vehicle: The Hays PD began investigations into four vehicle burglaries reported over the weekend. The first was reported in the 200 block of West 5th Street and the alleged burglary occurred between 3:00PM Friday and 10:15AM Saturday. The second vehicle burglary was reported in the 1000 block of East 8th Street between Saturday at 10:00PM and Sunday at 1:30AM. The third burglary was reported in the 2800 block of Canal Boulevard at 10:48AM Sunday. The final burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 400 block of East 13th Street. The alleged burglary occurred between 6:00PM Saturday and 1:29 Sunday afternoon.

Theft: Officers investigated four theft reports over the weekend. The first was reported in connection with a civil dispute in the 3700 block of Vine Street at 11:29 Saturday morning. Another theft was reported in the 4300 block of Vine Street at 2:27AM. The theft of a vehicle was reported in the 500 block of West 19th Street on Sunday. The alleged theft occurred between Saturday at 6:00PM and Sunday at 11:03AM. The final theft was reported in the 1000 block of East 41st Street Sunday morning at 1:41AM.

Motor Vehicle Accident: The Hays PD responded to four motor vehicle accident between Saturday and Sunday. A hit and run accident was reported in the 100 block of West 4th Street Saturday morning between 2:00 and 3:45. Officers investigated another hit and run accident reported in the 200 block of West 11th Street between 2:00 and 3:00AM Sunday.
