Three options for a new Ellis County EMS/Rural Fire building were presented to the Ellis County Commission Monday night. The main difference in the options is the size of the basement.

EMS Director Kerry McCue says the design is based on the department’s needs and not wants.

The options ran from $2.9 million to $3.8 million depending on the basement and building material. If constructed, the county would then try to sell the current EMS and Rural Fire stations in Hays.

The commission will schedule a special meeting to further discuss the plans.
