The Ellis Industrial Development Group has submitted a request for the old county shop building and the surrounding land. The county is interested in giving up the building, but Commissioner Glenn Diehl says the land is used for storage of materials. He doesn’t think the county should give land away only to pay for a new tract. Diehl would rather swap land with the development group.

County Administrator Greg Sund says nothing has been negotiated yet, and he wants to confer with the county counselor before moving forward.
