Over the weekend the Hays Police Department conducted 46 traffic stops and received 13 animal calls, according to the Hays Police Activity Log.
Theft: Between Friday and Sunday the Hays Police Department began investigating nine theft reports. The first theft allegedly occurred between Sunday November 11th at 8:59 a.m. and Tuesday November 13th at 8:30 a.m. in the 100 block of West 7th Street. Officers investigated a theft report in the 3600 block of Vine Street Friday morning at 3:12 a.m. Another theft was reported Friday in the 2900 block Canal Boulevard. The alleged theft occurred between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. Friday.
On Saturday officers investigated report of a theft in the 200 block of East 25th Street that occurred between 7:30 Friday evening and 8:45 Saturday morning. Officers also investigated a motor vehicle accident and theft in connection with the theft report. A theft was reported in the 300 block of 13th Street on Saturday afternoon. Theft/shoplifting was reported in the 2900 block of Vine Street on Saturday. The alleged theft occurred between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
The Hays PD investigated two theft reports on Sunday. The first was reported in the 3700 block of Vine Street at 3:14 p.m. and the final theft was reported in the 4300 block Sunday evening.
Criminal Damage to Property: Officers investigated four reports of criminal damage to property on Sunday in the 200 block of West 6th Street. All six alleged damage occurred between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m.
Driving under the influence: The Hays Police Department conducted four driving under the influence stops over the weekend. One of the stops was in connection with an underage possession of alcohol in the 300 block of West 8th Street. Another stop resulted in an investigation into drug related charges in connection with a driving under the influence stop in the 100 block of Ash Street.
Disturbance: Officers responded to seven disturbance reports over the weekend. The first report, in the 100 block of West 7th Street, had a report of a battery on a Law Enforcement Officer in connection with the disturbance reported at 1:59 a.m. Three of the seven reports of disturbances were for fights.
Drug Related Offenses: The Hays PD investigated a drug related offense in the 1200 block of Vine Street Sunday morning between 12:15 and 12:37.
Gunshots: Officers responded to a reported of gunshots in the 400 block of West 3rd Street at 5:24 a.m. Officers investigated the report as a non-injury shooting and unlawful use of weapon.
Motor Vehicle Accident: The Hays Police Department responded to four motor vehicle accidents over the weekend. A hit and run accident, involving private property was reported in the 100 block of East 11th Street Friday evening. Another hit and run accident was reported in the 4300 block of Vine Street Saturday afternoon between 4:15 and 4:25 p.m.
