The USD 489 Board of Education Monday night voted against installing artificial turf on the baseball and football/soccer fields. Board President Darren Schumacher says this $1.6 million project needs to be considered by the Facility Needs Committee appointed Monday night.

Board member Richard Kraemer voted in favor of the turf, saying it’ll cost more to delay the project.
