The Hays Police Department conducted 64 traffic stops and received 29 animal during the Thanksgiving Holliday (November 20th through the 25th), according to the Police Activity Log.
Theft: The Hays Police Department investigated six theft reports over the Thanksgiving Holliday. Four of the theft reports were in the 4300 block of Vine Street. Two of the alleged thefts were reported on Tuesday, November 20th and two more were reported on Saturday, November 24th. Officers also investigated a theft report on Sunday in the 2700 block of Vine Street at 9:33 p.m.
Burglaries: Officers investigated two burglaries over the weekend. The first report was a burglary of a storage unit in the 400 block of East 17th Street. The second burglary was reported in connection with criminal damage to property in the 500 block of East 6th Street at 3:20 a.m.
Criminal Damage to Property: The Hays PD investigated nine reports of criminal damage to property. Five of the nine were reported in the 700 block of East 6th Street on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday officers investigated a criminal damage to property reported in the 200 block of West 6th Street. Friday officers investigated a report of criminal damage in the 500 block of East 8th Street and another report of criminal damage was reported in the 200 block of East 23rd Street Saturday.
Motor Vehicle Accidents: Officers responded to 11 motor vehicle accidents reported over the Thanksgiving Holliday. Five of the accidents were with private property and there was one hit and run accident reported in the 4000 block of General Hays Road Tuesday morning.
Driving Under the Influence: The Hays Police Department conducted one driving under the influence stop during the Thanksgiving Holliday. Officers conducted the DUI stop in the 1300 block of Oak Street Wednesday morning at 1:59.
Drug Offenses: Officers investigated drug related offenses in the 1300 block of East 33rd Street Sunday at 10:47 p.m.
Fire: The Hays Police Department responded to a fire in the 400 block of Halladay Street Sunday at 7:52 p.m. Officers began an arson investigation in connection with the fire.
