Another part of the HaysMed renovation and expansion project is now underway. In early November the outside work began on the Dreiling/Schmidt Cancer Institute and Breast Care Center.

The $3.8 million project will include enhanced privacy and comfort for patients with new clinical treatment areas and a more modern look. The expansion will feature four additional treatment rooms and two more exam rooms, along with a room to draw labs. Another addition will be an image boutique that will provide wigs, scarves and other head coverings.

Phase I, the exterior work, should be done in March, which is when work on the interior will begin.
