The project to repair the bridge north of Ellis will begin soon. The county commission approved a construction contract with L&M Contractors Monday night for approximately $89,000. Commissioner Swede Holmgren says the 120 day construction schedule is acceptable with the bid coming over $70,000 below the engineer’s estimate.

The bridge was closed in October due to safety concerns when deterioration was discovered on the bridge deck.
