KHP Responds to Back to Back Accidents in Gove County

An eastbound pickup trying to pass a semi on I-70 in Gove County Tuesday afternoon ended up in the westbound lanes after losing control. The Highway Patrol says the accident happened at 3:00 about 5.5 miles east of Quinter. The driver of the pickup from Colorado was taken to Gove County Medical Center.

A minute later in the same location two vehicles collided when one slowed for pedestrians crossing the interstate. A car driven by 71-year-old Freda Hunt of Grainfield slowed and was rear-ended by a van driven by a man from Kansas City. Hunt and the two adults in the van were all taken to Gove County Medical Center with possible injuries. Two children in the van were not injured.
