The No. 11 Fort Hays State Lady Tigers raced out to an 11-0 lead in the first 3 1/2 minutes and never looked back in a 87-54 win over Oklahoma-Panhandle State Saturday night in Goodwell, Oklahoma. The win moves the Lady Tigers to 9-0 for the first time in school history. The Aggies drop to 3-6.
Fort Hays State led the game from wire-to-wire, never leading by less than seven in the first half and were up 42-22 at the half. The Aggies got as close at 17 in the second half but FHSU answered with a 17-4 run to push the lead to 30 and would lead by as many as 35 in the second half.
FHSU dominated the glass, outrebounding OPSU 59-36 and outscored them on second chance points 33-3. The Lady Tigers also outscored the Aggies 20-8 off of turnovers.
Kate Edwards and Kate Lehman both turned in double-doubles, Edwards scoring 18 and grabbing 12 rebounds, Lehman 16 points and 13 boards. Tera Ingalbe and Kelsey Sorenson both came off the bench to score nine.
