The Hays High Lady Indians fell behind 8-0 before scoring their first points of the game as Pratt opened the game on a 13-2 run. Hays the pulled within seven at 13-6, but Pratt again went onto a 15-2 run into the mid-second quarter taking control of the game 28-8. Hays was cold shooting from the field the entire night as they make just 22% of the shots 11-49 while Pratt went 21-46 at 46%. The Indians combined that with 17 first half turnovers and 26 for the game. Katelyn Schumacher scored 11 and grabbed a game high eight rebounds. Both teams are 3-3 on the season.

Boys Hays 79 Pratt 41
Hays scored 26 points in each the first and third quarters setting up a continuous clock fourth quarter in their sixth win of the season. Hays led Pratt by only two with a little over five minutes left in the first quarter, but erupted for a 15-3 run taking a 14 point lead and led 26-13 after the first quarter. Defensively Hays locked Pratt down in the second quarter holding the Greenbacks to just five points, call coming in the final :48 seconds of the quarter. Hays led by 23 at half time and 67-33 after three quarters.
Hays got a second consecutive 22 point performance from Brady Werth. Jordan Windholz added 13, tying each players career highs. Fifteen Indians played in the game with twelve scoring. Liam Kahmeyer led 0-6 Pratt with 12 on four, three point field goals.
Hays shot 54% from the field on 25 of 46 and 20 of 25 from the free throw line. Hays turned the ball over just nine times and out-rebounded Pratt by 11.
Hays is now 6-0 and matches the win total from all of last year.
Both Hays teams return to action January 4th on the road in Liberal.
