With over 60,000 patrons to the Hays Aquatic Park and Wilson Pool during the past summer, the two facilities had a good year, according to Hays Recreation Commission Director Roger Bixenman.

The rec commission gave their annual report to the city commission Thursday night, and despite hoping to have more teams, Bixenman also praised the first year of the sports complex.

Based on surveys of the teams that traveled to Hays for tournaments at the complex, the teams spent over $100,000 in the community and their families and friends spent a similar amount.
