Tigers Fall to Northeastern State

Northeastern State hit back-to-back 3-pointers to build a nine-point halftime lead. They then scored the first five points of the second to go up 14 and defeat the Fort Hays State Tigers 76-61 Thursday night in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. The loss snaps FHSU’s six-game win streak and drops them 8-3 and 2-1 in the MIAA. Northeastern has won five-straight and improves to 10-1 and 3-0 in the MIAA.

The River Hawks hit six of their first eight 3-point attempts in the second half and led by as many as 20 in the second. The Tigers were held to 4-of-18 shooting beyond the arc and just 39-percent for the game (26-66).

Men’s Highlights 1-3-13

Lance Russell led three Tigers in double-figures with 16 points. Craig Nicholson and Ben Congiusta both added 11. Congiusta also had a team-high seven assists
