
Fort Hays State was held to just two field goals for the first 18:15 of the second half and drop their second straight, losing at Emporia State 69-54 Saturday afternoon. It’s the Hornets 15th-straight win over the Lady Tigers who drop to 10-2 and 2-2 in the MIAA. ESU improves to 6-5 and 1-2 in the MIAA.
The Lady Tigers finish 5-for-31 from the field in the second half (16.1%) and missed all eight of their 3-point tries.
Fort Hays State trailed by four on several different occasions in the first half before outscoring the Hornets 14-3 over the final 5:29 to take a 33-26 lead at halftime. Kate Lehman scored the team’s first 17 points, hitting her first eight shots, and had 19 points at the half.
Kate Lehman finished with 25 points and 16 rebounds along with seven blocked shots. Kate Lehman added 13 points before fouling out.
