The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers fell behind by five early in their game with Southwest Baptist Wednesday night at Gross Coliseum. They responded with  a 24-5 run and go on to beat the Bearcats 64-55. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak and improves the Lady Tigers to 11-3 and 3-3 in the MIAA. The Bearcats have lost four straight and drops to them to 6-9 and 1-6 in the MIAA.

The Lady Tigers led by as many as 19 late in the first half and were up 17 at the half but the Bearcats used a 14-5 run to pull within 10 at 43-33 a little over three minutes into the second half. SBU would get as close as five late in the game before a the Tigers hit four free throws to keep them at bay.

FHSU Womens Highlights 1-16-13

FHSU shot just 37.5% for the game and just 27-percent in the second half including 0-for-9 from 3-point range. Kate Edwards was the only Lady Tiger to reach double-figures with 11 points and eight rebounds. Kate Lehman added nine points and eight boards. Keriann Shaw added a season-high nine points and seven rebounds.
