The Fort Hays State Tigers closed the first half on a 10-0 run to lead by 14 at the break then built the lead to 25 in the second half in a 74-59 win over Southwest Baptist Wednesday night at Gross Coliseum. The victory improves the Tigers to 10-4 overall and 4-2 in the MIAA. Southwest Baptist, who had their three-game win streak snapped, falls to 5-10 and 3-4 in the conference.

The Tigers shot 54-percent in the second half and finished at 53-percent for the game. They went 6-for-17 from 3-point range and hit 12-of-13 free throws.
Ben Congiusta led four Tigers in double figures with 17 points, Lance Russell scored 14, Craig Nicholson 13 with nine assists and Dwayne Brunson scored 12. Rundell Mauge scored nine and grabbed nine rebounds, both career high’s.
