The Hays Police Department conducted 10 traffic stops and received four animal calls on Thursday, according to the Police Activity Log.
Theft: The Hays Police Department investigated two theft reports on Thursday. The first theft/burglary was reported in the 400 block of West 15th Street. The alleged theft occurred between 3:30 and 3:40 p.m. Tuesday. The second theft investigated by the Hays PD was a report of shoplifting in the 1900 block of Vine Street. The theft was reported at 4:02 p.m. Thursday.
Drug Offenses: Officers investigated a case of drug related offenses in the early morning hours Thursday. Officers responded to the 1000 block of East 41st at 2:56 a.m. and began an investigation into drug related offenses.
Disturbance: The Hays Police Department received a report of a disturbance on Thursday morning in the 500 block of West 7th Street. Officers responded to the report and began an investigation into a fight that occurred between 1:45 and 1:47 a.m. The Hays PD also investigated a disorderly conduct case in connection with the fight.
Minor in Possession: Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of West 7th Street on Thursday morning that resulted into an investigation into a minor in possession of cereal malt beverages/liquor. The alleged stop was conducted at 2:02 Tuesday morning.
Driving Under the Influence: The Hays Police Department received the report of an intoxicated subject at 2:41 Thursday morning in the 1200 block of Vine Street. Officers investigated the report and began an investigation into a driving under the influence case with the report.
Motor Vehicle Accidents: The Hays PD received four reports of motor vehicle accidents on Thursday. An accident involving private property was reported in the 1900 block of General Custer Road at 10:33 a.m. A hit and run accident was reported in the 2300 block of East 13th Street Thursday morning. The alleged accident occurred between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. Thursday. A personal injury accident was reported at 8th and Vine Street at 2:10 Thursday afternoon.
