Hays Hurricanes swimmer, Isaac Smith was recently chosen to represent the Missouri Valley Swim League at the 29th Annual Midwest All-Star Swim Meet.

The meet, held in Lawrence on January 12-13, 2013 was for the top swimmers from the Colorado, Iowa, Midwestern, Missouri Valley and South Dakota swim leagues.  Smith was the only swimmer from Western Kansas chosen to compete in the meet.

Smith advanced from the preliminary rounds to the finals in the 50 Butterfly, 100 Breaststroke and 50 Breaststroke.   Final results include second place in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:21.86) and 50 Breaststroke (35.84).

Smith, is a 10 year old fifth grader at Wilson Elementary.   He is the son of Brad and Michele Smith.  He is coached locally by Hurricanes Head Coach, Morgan Hagerman.
