During a three-stop tour this week, Kansas Transportation Secretary Mike King and Governor Sam Brownback announced projects that have been selected for preliminary engineering.
KDOT leaders reviewed about 100 projects and made their final selections based on engineering factors and public recommendations received during a series of local consultation meetings in October.
No new projects were selected for Northwest Kansas, but some projects were previously selected and are currently underway, including the reconstruction and widening of the shoulders of U.S. 281 in Russell County.
A complete list of all of the projects selected is available on KDOT’s T-WORKS website.
