The Fort Hays State Lady Tigers closed with an 18-4 run after Nebraska-Kearney had taken a tw0-point with 6:45 to play and beat the Lopers 62-50 Saturday afternoon at the Health and Sports Center in Kearney. It’s the Lady Tigers fifth-straight win over UNK and their sixth-straight overall as they improve to 18-5 and 10-5 in the MIAA. The Lopers fall to 6-15 and 3-11 in the conference.
The Lady Tigers used a 14-3 run to go up 11 with 14:30 to play but the Lopers responded with a 15-2 run over the next seven-plus minutes to grab their second lead of the game.
Traci Keyser recoreded her second career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Tigers. Kate Lehman scored 14 despite hitting just 6-of-14 shooting. Kate Edwards added 12 points.
The Lady Tigers warmed up late to shoot 41-percent from the floor but hit just 4-of-12 from three-point range and 10-of-18 from the free throw line.
