Economic Impact: After 60 plus Years, Oldham Sales Takes Action

Rick Bolling told Hays Post, “I think it was the second half of 1949, when Oldham Sales moved into the location at 10th and Allen”

It is not there now. In January, the longtime auto parts, paint, and supply business moved into a new location, 815 East 11th street. Bollig, whose father was among the original owners of Oldham, is extremely happy with the transition.

“It’s like going from one side of the bridge to the other he said. “From gloom and doom to beautiful.” Bollig said they were simply doing what the economy required. “We made the necessary changes. We were able to keep as many of the employees who wanted to stay, and we took care of others.” Oldham will focus the majority of their business on paint and supplies and still carry things like Traeger products. “In the past, 15% of the inventory was 85% of our sales. Now 85% of our inventory will be 100% of our sales,” said Bollig. A new name may also be in the future. That may be part of news when they have an open house in late spring.Oldham OldNew Oldham
