A Kansas Highway Patrol vehicle was hit by a semi-trailer truck this morning on I-70 west of Hays.
The State Trooper had parked in the west bound lane of I-70 and was helping direct traffic around a rollover accident near mile marker 157. (near the Bypass exit)
KHP Spokesman Todd Heilman told Hays Post, “This is a good reminder for drivers to slow down when they approach law enforcement working an accident or other KHP activity.” Fortunately, the only serious injury was to the KHP vehicle.
The resident of Ellis involved in the original rollover accident was not injured.
