The Inmates are drinking bottled water and using styrofoam plates at the Ellis County jail today. Ellis County Sheriff Ed Harbin told Hays Post that a jailer discovered a water main break overnight.  “It’s inconvenient but repairs are being made and we will get through it.”  The break is in an area between the Law Enforcement Center and the Hays Public Library. Only the Law Enforcement Center is without water.

Kyle Sulzman, Assistant Director of Utilities with the City of Hays told Hays Post that his team was contacted about 2:30 a.m.  Fixing the line is the responsibility of the county.  Repairs are being made. Stay tuned to Eagle radio and Hays Post for details as they become available.
